Purchased A New Spa? How To Ensure That Delivery Day Goes Off Without A Hitch

If you're going to be having a spa delivered to your home, you'll want to be prepared when it gets there. Even if you've hired a crew for the delivery and set-up, there are still some things that you'll need to do to make sure that the delivery goes off without a hitch. To avoid possible problems and delays, here are four steps you should take before your spa is delivered.

Purchase All the Necessary Supplies

Once your spa arrives, you'll want to begin enjoying it as quickly as possible. The best way to do that is to make sure you have all the necessary supplies before it arrives. If you're not sure what supplies you'll need, head down to your local pool supply shop and ask them. They'll be able to help you line up all the supplies you'll need.

Schedule Your Spa Maintenance

When you have the delivery date set in stone, it's a good idea to schedule your spa maintenance. Even if you decide that you're going to take care of the actual maintenance, having that initial service call will ensure that everything is where it should be, including the chlorine levels. The last thing you want is to have a problem with algae right off the bat. Not only that, but during the initial spa maintenance appointment, your technician will be able to ensure that everything is working properly, including the pump, the heater, and the jets.

Have the Utilities Inspected

As soon as your spa is delivered, it will be set up, which means the water supply and the electrical lines will already need to be in place. To make sure that your water and electricity are installed properly, turned on, and ready to go, you should arrange to have them inspected prior to your delivery and set-up date. That way, you know that everything will be ready to go as soon as your spa arrives. Don't forget to ensure that the electrical outlet is equipped with a GFCI switch. Your GFCI switch will turn off the electrical power to your spa in the event of an emergency.

Arrange a Play Date

If you have children and/or pets, you'll need to arrange a play date for them. Your delivery crew is going to be using some heavy equipment to get your spa set up. The last thing you want is to have your children or pets injured by the equipment. You also don't want to have them underfoot while you're trying to facilitate the set-up of your new spa. To keep them safe, arrange to send your children to a friends house for the day, and put your pets in a boarding facility for the day.
